Less than a year after the German Society of Hematologists held a symposium on the application of cytochemical and histochemical methods to hematological problems, the publishing house of Springer has presented the proceedings in form of a rather bulky volume (apparently by photographic reproduction of typed manuscripts). The subject matter is divided into three main sections dealing with (1) nucleic acids and protein, (2) enzymes, (3) lipids and polysaccharides, with an additional section devoted to the cytochemical demonstration of iron, zinc, and copper.
