In 1961, Professor N. N. Petrov of the Institute of Oncology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR edited a small volume summarizing experimental and clinical oncology. This translation now makes it available for the reader of the Western World.
Professor Petrov, who wrote the first Russian textbook of oncology in 1910, has assembled 17 chapters with the assistance of his colleagues at the Institute. Ten of the chapters are by Petrov; other contributors are Shabad, Larionov, Parshin, Rakov, Kholdin, Glazunov, Kuz'mina, Lazareva, Yu. V. Petrov, Serebrov, and Chaklin.
