Dr. Fedukowicz's monograph answers effectively the need for an up-to-date work on ocular infections, covering virtually all external infections likely to be encountered in practice.
The first portion of her book is concerned with general considerations of bacterial infection of the eye, bacterial structure, and factors important in the host-parasite relationship. These have been, in parts, reduced almost to point form, and in this overly ambitious condensation certain imprecise statements have appeared. One could argue over the correctness of sentences such as: "Antibiotics have no effect on most of the gram-negative bacilli" (p. 10).
