The broad spectrum of thoracic diseases is considered in this book by an internist, Dr. Hinshaw, and his radiologist colleague, Dr. Garland. The authors have stipulated their goals to be communication with physicians in general and have not attempted to produce a volume for chest specialists. Their approach is pragmatic, emphasizing guidance for studying and treating patients with thoracic problems. Both authors have had extensive clinical experience, and each chapter provides numerous insights into the handling of the problems under discussion. The bibliography is extensive but not exhaustive and affords the interested reader resources for further study. The index is
