Yet another hardy soul has undertaken the prodigious (and prestigious) task of writing an endocrinologic text. The result is an uneven discourse ranging from top-flight presentations in some areas to the most cavalier treatment in others.
On the positive side, Dr. Kupperman has provided what is undoubtedly the best discussion of clinical sex endocrinology that I have ever encountered. While admittedly arbitrary on occasion, the author has fully explored problems of diagnosis and management with enough basic information provided to justify the rationale. Unfortunately, this high level of achievement is not evident in the discussions of the thyroid and parathyroid,
