Few people are more qualified than Stig Jarnum to summarize the clinical and experimental literature on the subject of the movement of serum proteins into the gastrointestinal tract. The author has been in the forefront of those who have contributed in both areas.
On the whole, his book is excellent. It is a painstaking and thorough review of the methods used to study albumin metabolism and turnover of the clinical features of patients who have abnormal enteric losses and of the present problem of accurate quantitation of this process.
