For an educational exercise that has ceased to consistently provide an effective learning experience, the clinical pathological conference manages to perpetuate itself in print in many periodicals and in no less than two bound collections. The more recently published of these, the Clinico-Pathological Conferences of the Mt. Sinai Hospital, edited by Schaffner and Popper, is the subject of this review.
A more or less traditional format is followed. A case history is presented, a discussant goes through a differential diagnosis, and a pathologist gives the autopsy findings and clinico-pathological correlations. The cases presented in this volume are interesting, unusual, and
