A concise but comprehensive textbook of pediatrics by two English authorities. Very up-to-date, as may be noted in sections on chromosomal abnormalities, and metabolic and endocrine disease. A chapter on "Diseases of Children in the Tropics." Appendices on pediatric drug therapy (especially antimicrobial and corticosteroid), on growth standards and on details of gluten-free and low-phenylalanine diets. The internist who wishes to pursue reading on details of pediatric problems will not find this a text to fit his needs, and references are too infrequent to lead him to adequate sources. Well-described by the authors as "a working manual."
