Today, when many medical educators are writing and talking about need for changes, a review of one of the actual, early experiments is refreshing and exciting. This book is a programmed text for medical students—a radical and different method of teaching. Changes in theory are more easily accepted than personal departures from practice. One can foresee ready criticism and unpopularity of this book. (Most will hesitate to condemn it for fear of the uncertain future.)
