Here, in one of the first books to deal exclusively with this subject, we are presented with the clinical experiences of gastric surgery from the Department of Surgery of the University of Birmingham (England), and the results of various metabolic studies conducted by distinguished investigators in cooperating units affiliated with the same institution. The senior author discusses in an informal manner clinical and technical aspects of gastric operations based upon his personal series of over 1,000 cases.
