For rather curious reasons this is a disappointing book. It purports to be a detailed monograph on the treatment of these two types of pulmonary disease, but of its 259 pages only about 15% are allotted to therapy. In fact, there is less total space devoted to treatment of all diseases than is set aside for a single chapter on the laboratory aspects of the mycotic diseases alone. The chapter on amebic disease has seven sections, none of which is devoted to treatment, per se. In many chapters considerable space is given to clinical aspects which are not pulmonary. The
