Professor Hoffman's third edition of "The Biochemistry of Clinical Medicine" deals with almost all the categories of medicine of biochemical interest. Written almost entirely by the author with the assistance of only one collaborator on the section on gastric and enzymatic secretions, this volume has the virtue of continuity of presentation and clarity of conclusion. Certainly a greater breadth of biochemistry, physiology, and medicine is encompassed in this volume than any other single-author volume of which this reviewer is aware.
