Those with interest in electrocardiography and a taste for its history will read this carefully prepared, charmingly written, profusely illustrated little volume with much pleasure. Even the few now remaining who have lived through much of that history will find many gems, such as DuBois-Reymond's castigation of Matteucchi for publishing practically the same material in various journals.
