As pointed out by the author, his book is the result of many years of devotion to clinical electromyography, and the material presented stems from Dr. Isch's early experience with Professor C. Kayser of the Institute of Physiology, Strasbourg Medical School, and from his research as head of the Electromyographic Laboratory of the Neurologic Clinic at the same medical school.
The book is divided into four parts. The first part deals in a succinct and yet comprehensive way with the general physiology of the neuromuscular system, instrumentation, and techniques for peripheral nerve stimulation and needle electrode examination. It closes with
