Ambitious in conception, this stimulating volume considers sexual function and behavior from the viewpoints of the embryologist, physiologist, biochemist, clinician, psychologist, and lawyer. It is a valuable book for several reasons, but primarily because there is a real need for an integrated source of information concerning abnormalities of sexual development and behavior. Patients are becoming less reluctant to seek medical help for such problems; the distaste or evasion with which many physicians respond to the challenge of such patients is based, to a large degree, on an appalling lack of "hard" knowledge concerning such conditions as impotence, frigidity, virilization, masturbation
