The third edition of this text on physical diagnosis retains a conventional presentation of the subject. A brief initial chapter discusses history taking; then a general survey of the physical examination is followed by sections devoted to the various anatomic regions. In each section, the technique of examination and range of normal findings are supplemented by descriptions of abnormalities seen in disease. There is a generous number of accompanying diagrams and photographs. Although much of this text and its illustrations will help the student of physical diagnosis, the book cannot be recommended as a primary reference source.
