A succinct review of studies assessing the role of exercise in the prevention of obesity and atherosclerotic heart disease. Six chapters discuss the effect of nutrition on athletic performance, the relationship of body weight to exercise, the results of physical training experiments, and the methods of statistical treatment of body measurements.
Persons who know the subject well are offered little, but for anyone interested in only a survey it is an accurate summary of important work.
