Cervical lymphadenopathies are a common problem for the clinician who deals with diseases of the head and for the pathologist who risks his neck with the diagnosis. Any attempt to make this difficult and important topic easier to understand should, therefore, be welcomed on à priori grounds. If, in addition, an experienced worker like Professor Lennert manages to compress much of his knowledge into a monograph of only about 100 pages, everybody should be delighted. Professor Lennert is the author of an erudite treatise on the pathology of lymph nodes, whose second volume is impatiently awaited.
