Dr. Mills directs his book to "medical students and doctors who are not experts in the adrenal field . . ."; It presents a well-organized and concise text illustrated by many helpful diagrams and charts. The first third of the book is concerned with the anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry of the adrenal cortex (adrenal medullary function and disease are not well dealt with in this volume). Clinical problems related to disease of the adrenal cortex and to the use and complications of steroids in nonadrenal disorders occupy the remainder of the text.
Dr. Mills has presented an excellent introduction to
Clinical Aspects of Adrenal Function.. Ann Intern Med. 1965;62:859. doi: 10.7326/0003-4819-62-4-859_1
