In September, 1964, a symposium on acute renal failure was held at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Seventeen short papers and two open discussions taken from this meeting are assembled in this book.
The first five papers deal with renal circulation in acute renal failure. The authors used Rubidium86, Krypton85, Xenon133, or indocyanine green to measure renal blood flow and found it to be ⅓ to ⅔ of normal.
The second group of five papers discuss biochemical disturbances in acute renal failure. Two papers discuss blood amines and the unmeasured portion of the NPN in acute renal failure. Dimethylamine
