A "Fibel" is a "primer" or "first reader." Prof. Heintz intentionally has set out to write a "primer" of kidney diseases for the general practitioner and hence has placed much emphasis on practical diagnostic hints and therapeutic measures, going even to the length of arranging leading symptoms and signs in differential diagnostic tables. Within the limits that he has set himself, he has written a handy, commonsense account—foot-processes firmly on the ground!—of the main nephropathies that should be welcomed by German-reading physicians. The somewhat more uncommon disorders are also dealt with, but rather briefly.
A welcome feature of this book
