The pathogenesis, the immunologic alterations, the metabolic disturbances, and the clinical features of sarcoidosis are given equal attention in this well-organized monograph. The author's investigations in each of these fields are balanced against concise but comprehensive reviews of the published work of others. The discussion of the clinical manifestations of sarcoidosis includes an analysis of observations in a series of 100 cases. The author's positions on the many controversial points regarding the genesis of sarcoidosis are for the most part judicious.
