The sixth edition of this textbook of pharmacology appears under dual authorship, an innovation that, according to the preface, it is hoped will "add to the vigor, authoritativeness and general excellence of the text." Since this reviewer is not acquainted with the previous editions, he is not in the position to verify this claim.
There is no difficulty in agreeing that this book meant for the instruction of the uninitiated and the updating of the medical man should achieve this limited purpose. Clinicians, however, seldom make recourse to such sources of references for their information, as they generally turn to
