This unusual collection of valuable information about diagnostic tools used in the broad study of cardiovascular disease is presented in digest form in this monograph by a large group of authors. Its principal virtue is its encyclopediac presentation of the complexities of cardiovascular diagnosis. Its principal failing is that like most encyclopedias, it is distinctly dated. In fact, most chapters were completely presented in the 1959 encyclopedia also edited by Luisada. Some effort has been made to update some of the factual material; however, this has been accomplished by the addition of new sections without the changing of old ones.
