Being a brief review of common infectious diseases seen in practice rather than "A Synopsis of Fevers and Their Treatment," this paperback book is intended primarily for medical students and general practitioners. Its obvious advantages include a succinct and matter-of-fact style and up-to-date descriptions of the newer antimicrobial agents and their indication. However, inherent in the format of so brief a presentation are the disadvantages of absence of any references and rather one-sided recommendations of management and treatment.
