Who is titled "Doctor," where he earned this privilege and how he modestly advertises it, and what regalia and actions are appropriate to the ceremonies of Academe. Includes a brief history of the doctorate; lists and tabulations of doctorate-granting institutions (and their specific degrees), and regalia colors; and illustrations of calling cards.
It is interesting to note that "maize" trims the Ph.D. in agriculture, and "drab" the doctor of business.
A useful reference for academic libraries and the offices of deans.
