To the Editor: In the September 1964 issue of the ANNALS OF INTERNAL MEDICINE we reported follow-ups on the first 51 cases treated at the University of Colorado with renal homografts from living volunteer donors. At the time the manuscript was prepared, in early June of 1964, 30 of the 51 patients were still alive after 4 to 19 months.
In the ensuing 15 months ending in September, 1965, only one additional patient has succumbed (LD 23), from a combination of hepatitis and bacterial sepsis. The other 29 are still alive with continuing function of the same homografts. The survival
