This monograph is devoted to the pulmonary disorders caused in agricultural laborers by the inhalation of various molds or, more precisely, their spores—toxomycosis. Although a few related conditions are briefly dealt with, the author's interest has centered largely on a condition that he first described in the early 1930s and that was encountered mainly in workers engaged in the preparation of dried peppers prior to grinding them for the extraction of paprika—hence "Peppersplitter's Disease." The clinical manifestations of this acute and chronic occupational hazard are described in detail and are amply illustrated by X rays of good quality. With the
