This lavishly illustrated monograph deals principally with the gross and microscopic morphology of the heart in different animal species. In a brief and modest introduction the author defines her aims, chief of which was to make available in one place "information as to the gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, embryology, electron microscopy, histochemistry, and electrophysiology of numerous species of hearts. . . ."
