The rapid advances in genetics during the last 10 years have made it difficult to write a textbook that is not out of date by the time of publication. However, the husband and wife team who prepared Genetics in Medicine have succeeded admirably, and half of the references that they cite are to publications of 1963 or later.
The book is designed for undergraduate medical students and is likely to prove very popular. In addition to such standard subjects as the chromosomal basis of heredity, patterns of transmission, the blood groups, and mathematical genetics, there are clearly written and illustrated
