Based on a Wayne County Hospital symposium, this volume presents 13 clinical essays by present or former hospital staff members in medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, and urology. The presentations are brief and competent and would be useful for house officers or others seeking thin reviews of the subjects covered. There is not enough old or new information to serve for reference.
One article worth noting is on the value and techniques for peritoneal aspiration as a diagnostic measure in acute abdominal conditions. There is very little on this topic in the literature that internists read and the method
