A compendium of the experiences of the many physicians and researchers who have been concerned with the treatment of hemophilia at Oxford (England), this book has two major drawbacks. It is strictly limited to observations made at Oxford, making no attempt to compare these results with those of other hemophilia centers around the world; and it is frequently repetitive, as its 27 chapters are written by a number of different authors but concern the same group of patients.
The first chapter gives an excellent review of the hemostatic mechanism and clinical descriptions of the various hemorrhagic manifestations observed in hemophilia
