This monograph on the use of neuromuscular blocking agents will be of interest chiefly to anesthetists. However, neurologists and general internists may be interested in chapters dealing with altered sensitivity to these agents (myasthenia gravis, carcinomatous neuropathy, liver disease, pseudocholinesterase deficiency, renal disease, electrolyte disorders, thyrotoxicosis, and various muscle diseases) and their use in diagnosis (myasthenia gravis) and medical therapy (convulsions of tetanus and other medical causes and facilitation of mechanical ventilation).
