Section 705 of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act says that "(a) The Secretary shall cause to be published . . . reports summarizing all judgments, decrees, and court orders . . . rendered under this Act. . . ." Further, "(b) The Secretary may also cause to be disseminated information regarding food, drugs, devices, or cosmetics . . . involving . . . imminent danger to health, or gross deception of the consumer."
Under this authority, the Food and Drug Administration has started publication of FDA Papers, a magazine with makeup and contents less austere than its title.
