To the Editor: I have read with interest and definite surprise the recent (November 1966) editorial by Robin and Cross entitled "Lung Transplantation—Past, Present, and Future." A first reaction was to offer another editorial in which the dialogue would be extended and brought into balance. However, one finds that the ANNALS has devoted a remarkable amount of space to similar editorials over the past several years.
The authors have examined the subject of lung transplantation with considerable assurance. Yet, a brief search of their published titles has disclosed no research in the transplantation field—genetics, immunology, pathology, or operative technique. If
