This month, for the first time in 20 years, the masthead of The New England Journal of Medicine appears without the name of Joseph Garland as Editor. In its place is that of Franz J. Inglefinger who brings to his new post a wide experience as physician, teacher, an editor for The Year Book of Medicine, and former member of the Editorial Board of the journal he now directs. To Dr. Inglefinger we extend all good wishes for a succesful voyage over the editorial seas.
The retirement of Dr. Garland marks the end of one of the most successful editorships
