The complaint of dizziness frequently presents a perplexing diagnostic problem to the general practitioner and the specialist alike. In recent years significant advances have been achieved in clinical and pathological definition of disorders of labyrinthine systems and in development of practical tests for their recognition. The editor has sought to present a comprehensive view of the vertigo problem with contributions from many disciplines.
