This is a first-class reference book on human pathology by British authors. Each aspect of the subject is comprehensively treated by an acknowledged British authority, and this reviewer is unable to select any part for special praise; it is all good. The writers continue to enliven the necessary recitation of morphological detail by correlating it with the functional changes in each disease state. The writing is of high quality throughout, and the book is a delight to read.
In any large treatise there are bound to be a few statements with which one might disagree and which provide the pedantic
