Attempting to cover all emergency room care within one small book is a difficult task. In many hospitals, it has seemed more appropriate to keep a selection of standard texts in the emergency room and to supplement these with a loose-leaf up-to-date policy manual containing additional local policies. Dr. Eckert's book contains 23 chapters by subspecialties outlining the preferred methods of care of illnesses seen in the emergency room at the Albany Medical Center. The scope is wide, and the book will become outdated bit by bit.
This book is readable, well-organized, generally up-to-date, and will be useful for anyone
