A number of monographs on connective tissue have appeared over the last 15 years. This latest addition is unique only in its emphasis on considerations of connective tissue pathology and by the inclusion of two symposia: one on "Geographic Pathology of Connective Tissue Diseases" the other on "Connective Tissue Research Methods." There are 30 individually authored chapters, and, consequently, the component parts lack continuity and oftentimes lack relevance. Some of the chapters are actually more philosophical than scientific treatises.
