The main subject of this book is gas myelography rather than a comprehensive treatment of diseases of the spinal cord as suggested by the title. Unfortunately, the author's commendable aim of demonstrating pathologic change by gas myelography is defeated by the poor quality of the illustrations. Each roentgenogram is accompanied by a line drawing to demonstrate what is purportedly shown in it. In the majority of instances, however, the abnormality can be seen only in the line drawing. This treatment of roentgenograms will hardly encourage physicians to employ gas myelography, or, as a matter of fact, to read the book
