This study was undertaken to determine the types and clearances of various proteins found in the urine under three conditions:  in patients with gradually decreasing renal function,  in patients in whom renal disease is stable, and  in patients with nephrotic syndrome of the minimal or lipoid nephrosis type in whom proteinuria abates with treatment. In the first 2 groups there were 30 patients and in the third group, 5 patients.
