Immunological techniques are so widely used at present by workers in such varied fields outside of immunology as endocrinology, protein chemistry, and genetics that this 1,200-page book with 36 chapters on immunological methods ought to attract a large audience. All the chapters are written by individuals well-known for their use of the methods they describe though only a few were actually closely involved in the early development of the particular subjects covered. Most of the sections have enough introductory material to provide an adequate theoretical background of the topics covered. Noteworthy in this respect are the contributions of Parker on
