An account in German of the life and work of the pioneer allergist Storm Van Leeuwen (1882-1933), known for his demonstration that allergens are a cause of bronchial asthma in a major fraction of patients and, to Americans, for his textbook Allergic Diseases: Diagnosis and Treatment of Bronchial Asthma, Hay Fever, and other Allergic Diseases (Philadelphia, J. B. Lippincott, 1925; Garrison-Morton 2603). Photographs and diagrams of houses embodying his ideas for rooms and ventilation systems to provide an allergen-free environment. Bibliography of his work and of related publications, including obituary and biographical notices.
