Red cell and leukocyte immunology is addressed primarily to undergraduate students in the health sciences in this primer. The introductory chapter is a fascinating account of the history of blood transfusion. While containing many admirable illustrations of primitive tools and methods used by early transfusionists, it abruptly ends almost without mentioning modern transfusion technics. This may leave the reader in limbo but also sets the theme for the remainder of this book.
