At first blush, a price of $28.00 might seem excessive for a book presenting fundus photographs of only 24 abnormal conditions (Table 1). However, when the superb quality of
the 247 figures is observed, no explanation is needed. Furthermore, when it is seen that 61 of the 247 figures are in color, the price seems inconceivably low. Apparently, the only explanation is that the book was published in Japan in April 1968. The quality of work is excellent. The only flaw noted is in translation from Japanese to English where singular subjects are often coupled to plural verbs. It is
