The recent contributions of surgery in the field of cardiovascular disease have been so significant that a review of the clinical aspects of operable disease is indeed warranted. The major portion of this easily read and informative book is devoted to pathology, pathophysiology, clinical features, differential diagnosis, and surgical techniques of the various types of acquired and congenital heart disease. The ability of the reader to comprehend the material presented is greatly enhanced by the superb drawings and illustrations.
My major criticism of the book is the failure to include citations for the reference list at the end of each
