Dr. Page has written a remarkable little book. It is a review of a vast amount of scientific literature and is admirable for both its completeness and its brevity (only 143 pages). The key to this unusual accomplishment can be found in the author's preface:
This is not by any means a comprehensive book. Some statements are made without even giving the reference as should be done by any proper scientist, but the reader can pick up almost any trail from the selective references I have given.
The book is authoritative. Dr. Page and his colleagues first isolated and identified
