This introduction to vascular diseases has readable style. It appears to reflect the experience of this group of surgeons, hence medical aspects of vascular diseases are not covered adequately. Illustrations are sparse, and no references are cited.
Similar books of comparable length are available that provide a more critical overview of this group of disorders. Recent promising developments are not mentioned, for example, ultrasound and thermography. The use of the treadmill, when available, is superior to the modified Master's test proposed by the authors for determining claudication time. No new ideas or concepts are developed.
