A rich collection of approximately 1,500 aphorisms, Medical Aphorisms of Moses Maimonides, has never been published in a modern western language. Only Hebrew and Latin editions are available in addition to Arabic and Hebrew manuscripts. The aphorisms are presented in 25 chapters or treatises based mainly on the works of Galen. Each treatise deals with a different subspecialty in medicine. The fifth treatise contains aphorisms with lessons pertaining to the urine and its examination. This treatise, which is presented below in its entirety and translated into English, is based mainly on Paris Hebrew Mss #1173.
